Dental Health

While (hopefully) we all brush our teeth multiple times a day, most of our pets rarely have their teeth brushed. As a result, tartar and plaque continue to build up to such a point it becomes a health care crisis for your pet. We take pride to work with you to stay ahead of medical complications with routine dental cleanings that help to prevent health concerns for your pet and larger cost to your wallet.

Why dental cleaning?

While (hopefully) we all brush our teeth multiple times a day, most of our pets rarely have their teeth brushed. As a result, tartar and plaque continue to build up to such a point it becomes a health care crisis for your pet. We take pride to work with you to stay ahead of medical complications with routine dental cleanings that help to prevent health concerns for your pet and larger cost to your wallet.

What happens during a dental?

We use an ultrasonic scaler and polisher to remover the tartar and plaque from your pet's teeth and also from under the gums. Occasionally, when cleaning is not enough to help the situation, we have to pull a tooth to avoid infection spreading throughout your pet. Your pet is put under general anesthesia for the treatment but rest assured that we do the proper preoperative blood work to make sure pet is safe for the procedure. We send your pet home the same day with pain medicine and antibiotics to avoid any complications from the procedure. We even send a dental kit home for your pet, just like the one you get from your dentist, to promote regular home dental care.
